Shipping Tube Airplane FT style
thingiverse
Do you ever wonder if you could turn an old shipping tube into an airplane? WELL, NOW'S YOUR CHANCE! Using discarded arrows is what I used for the spars in order to line it up on the fuselage, as well as holding the wing into place. I designed for other mounting places using the same diameter graphite arrow shafts I had. I used Elmer's foam board from my local grocery, which is a bit thicker. the servos are easily mounted on the inside of the rear cone due to the foam, just punch a hole for the control rods, you're golden. the rear cone is glued into place with hot melt, along with the wing mounts. For the battery, and electronics you can make a flite test style tray, and glue it onto the nose cone, for easy access. the tube I used was 66mm Outer diameter. supports only used on cone flanges.
