Saw the “Pens and Pencils” flash contest and I had 2 types of refills, a Parker® Roller Ball and a Pilot® Juice Up 0.4mm, lying around without bodies so it was kismet. This started me off designing a retractable pen without springs with the additional constraint that its main body must be reusable for either of them. I also really wanted a print that didn't require supports. All this modelling was done using Tinkercad.com - now you know why it has a strange name, right? - after extensive measuring with manual calipers.  Paraboloids and capsule were indispensible for preventing overhang issues in the cavities. The overhangs for the slots for insertion and removal are small enough so they are fine - Prusament flies. Here's the final design which doesn't require supports. I decided to use brims though - these don't really count as supports do they? :-) Pen tips (not the refill tips!) needed minor tweaking with a pair of sharp tip tweezers (maybe 3 to 4 turns?); you can see from the photo below that my Mini+ made the 1.2mm hole of the JuiceUp and the 2.2mm hole of the Roller Ball pen tip a little too tiny. The shorter pen tip is for the JuiceUp refill and the taller pen tip is for the Roller BallNow I can use both refills without getting new pens. See the photo proof! :-)Do note that if you wanna keep your pocket free of ink smudges, you need to raise the pen tip as described in the summary and keep it facing up to the sky. Another option is to use a short strip of thin double sided tape to keep the refill from sliding out of the main body; wanted to keep the main pen body reusable so I didn't make the cavity snugly fit a specific pen's refills.
