Shins -coins- for the Numenera RPG 3D print model
cgtrader
I printed out various shins from the Numenera RPG, carefully modeling them to create coins that are only about 1mm thick so I could make a large stack in time for my game two days later. To get the coin thickness right, you can easily scale up just one axis - roughly 1.75-2mm would look spot on. I have some notes on printing: do not use supports; they didn't affect infill (100% actually) since this shins' tiny height but it still helped a bit and concentric fill also gave me two shiny tops that make them perfect to paint. Concentric top/bottom layers produce that great circuit board aesthetic so I was right there in time - now we are almost perfect after adding wash paint to those shiny spots to complete my job as Numenera coins master. In the process, there were a couple of difficulties to resolve while using Slicing tool or something: some really strange stuff pops up when they try crossing bridge, and you just have some tiny chunks floating mid air now because these shins did have a few odd overhangs - they're going in a little bit messy this time, which was totally intentional by design though, as I tried to mimic that perfect shabby character which made the final stack look fantastic!
