Simple shims inspired by Handi-Shim ones are available in 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4 thicknesses. Each shim is half as wide as the others and three-eighths deep, with a countersunk hole designed to fit #8 screws. To achieve accurate final height results, adjust your first layer height accordingly. For example, if you're aiming for a 1/4 shim, set your initial layer to 0.15 mm and subsequent layers to 0.2 mm. This will yield the best possible outcome. For optimal results, print shims upside down with the number facing towards the bed. Conduct multiple trials before producing a large batch of shims to ensure precise height control. Conversions for shim thicknesses are as follows: * 1/4 is equivalent to 6.35 mm * 1/8 measures 3.175 mm * 1/16 equals 1.5875 mm * 1/32 translates to 0.79375 mm
