Shimano TL-PD63 alternative SPD pedal cone tool
thingiverse
If you've disassembled a set of Shimano M324 pedals and find yourself unwilling to purchase the specialized tool required to secure the outer cone while tightening the locknut, consider this solution. It's engineered to fit snugly around the 13mm head of the cone, allowing for your 10mm socket to be inserted down its center to tighten the locknut securely. I've aimed to make it as compact as possible within the recess of the pedal housing to prevent slippage during use. However, due to printer accuracy variations, you may need to tap it into place with a bit of force. Keep in mind that this tool is made of plastic, so you might have to print a duplicate for the other side. I recommend using a substantial amount of infill to enhance its durability. In my experience, it performed well.
