If the rubber on the grip has deteriorated or become sticky, you can easily upgrade to a more comfortable feel. Since Shimano Australia no longer had spare parts available for the 2500FI Stradic due to its age, I've designed a new version that attaches directly without any additional hardware. To install this upgrade, simply use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove the slotted nut under the rubber cap on the end of the grip. This will allow you to access and replace the ball bearing with the new handle. Be sure not to overtighten the nut when reinstalling it, or the handle may become difficult to turn. This design requires printing supports for the handle's ball portion, which can be easily snapped off once removed from the printer. A light sanding will be necessary to smooth out any rough edges. Additionally, I've included a file for printing two end caps for the hole - one of which is a spare in case you need it later.
