Shimano Hollowtech Crank Cap Tool TL-FC16
thingiverse
I tweaked the original part to fit snugly onto a 1/4" drive torque wrench. The tiny cap this tool loosens and tightens requires a precise torque of 6-8Nm to move the left crank close enough to the bottom bracket bearings without pinching them. To comply with Shimano specs, I first tightened the cap to its specified torque, then secured the crank retaining bolts in place. Since I lacked a 1/4" to hex drive adapter, I revised the original design to feature a standard 1/4" drive opening. Printing at 50% infill ensures the tool's teeth are robust, while using PTEG material guarantees durability.
