Shimano Cassette Spacer
thingiverse
I created this spacer to fit a Shimano cassette bicycle rear wheel because my gears cassette was significantly shorter than the hub. The inner part features the distinctive Shimano tooth pattern, while the disk extends slightly outward from the external gear to prevent the chain from becoming entangled in the spokes if it derails too far inward. This is my first attempt at designing a part using FreeSCAD and I'm thoroughly impressed - I'm utilizing the built-in spreadsheet feature to create a parametric design that allows me to easily modify various parameters, including overall thickness, epsilon margin, and outer disk radius. Two STLs have been generated: one for testing purposes with a smaller outer disk and another for production by simply adjusting the values in the spreadsheet.
