Shim to level print bed
thingiverse
In a YouTube video, I discovered that a milling machine levels its own bed by removing a tiny layer from the surface. This concept could be useful for cold bed printing as well. The idea involves printing a shim to level out height differences by gravity's effect on low areas and compression on high areas. A 3-5mm high shim should suffice. Create a simple structure, sized for your print bed, using the provided STL file. Print it onto your lowest surface, keep it there with glass or another covering, and you'll have a perfectly leveled bed. The attached STL is 19cm x 19cm x 3mm in size, with an OBJ model included. However, if you can print this shim, your bed might already be relatively level.
With this file you will be able to print Shim to level print bed with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Shim to level print bed.
