[Shield48] Face Shield

Shield48.eu emerged from the 2020 March HackForce hackathon, a bold initiative aimed at tackling the COVID-19 crisis that caught Europe off guard. Face shields are specifically designed to safeguard eyes and nose from direct contact with liquids and aerosols. A secondary advantage of wearing a face shield is limiting access to your face by preventing contaminated hands from touching it. The primary goal of this design was to create something simple, using minimal components and requiring minimal manufacturing time. This face shield is intended for emergency situations, providing medical workers with extra protection for their eyes and nose in addition to glasses or a face mask-respirator. Shield48's design was a collaborative effort between the Shield48.eu team's engineers and the Infectology consultation team at Paul Stradins Clinical University Hospital.
