Shield for LightView Pro Flex magnifier lamp
thingiverse
This design is tailored specifically to a fantastic little LED magnifier light, the LightView Pro Flex. This light is incredibly bright and flexible - it's easy to position for close-up work. The issue I encountered was when using it as a work area light, the lower edge of the light was very bright and annoying. Additionally, when extended or turned, the light can become less stable than I would like. So, I created a shield to block the side visibility of the light and a weight to provide more stability when the light is extended. The fit of the shield isn't perfect but you can use a hot air gun to shape the back edges of the shield to fit better and wrap around the area where the switch is located. I used some redi-mix mortar that I had on hand to fill the weight cavity. This is the lamp: Brightech – LightView Pro Flex – 1 Ultra-Bright Magnifier Lamp https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K10XA1O The weight will print without supports. The shield requires supports. I used S3D with four dense support layers at 80% infill and also 15% infill, one base layer, and no extra inflation distance for the standard supports. For automatic generation, I used a 1mm support pillar resolution with a 50deg max overhang angle. With care, I was able to remove all the interior supports in one piece.
