The M4 Sherman Firefly Mark VC Beldevere is a detailed model of the Staffordshire Yeomanry's vehicle from the 27th Armoured Brigade in Normandy, 1944. This model was originally created in Cinema 4D 16 and is ready for close-up renders without any need for cleanup. Simply drop it into your scene and start rendering. The Firefly requires no special plugin to open the scene, but it does use Phong shading interpolation with a smoothing angle of 35 degrees. In Lightwave, the Bumpmap must be manually loaded in the Materialcanal, with a strength of 35-40. The model consists of 282,727 polygons, 222,365 vertices, and 346 objects, using 11 textures and four bumpmaps. It can be exported as an OBJ, LWO, 3DS, or FBX file, compatible with Version 2010. The Sherman Firefly was a British variant of the American M4 Sherman tank, equipped with the powerful 17-pounder anti-tank gun. Originally designed as a stopgap until future British tanks were developed, the Firefly became the most common vehicle to carry this gun in World War II. After solving the problem of fitting the gun into the turret, production began in early 1944, just in time for Field Marshal Montgomery's forces to receive them before the Normandy landings. The Firefly soon proved itself to be the only British tank capable of defeating Panther and Tiger tanks at standard combat ranges, earning it a reputation as a formidable opponent. As a result, German tank crews were instructed to target Fireflies first in recognition of their effectiveness. Between 2100 and 2200 units were produced before production ceased in 1945.
