Sherman crab

This is a 1/35 scale replica of an American WW2 mine-clearing device known as the "Sherman Crab". Once deployed, it attaches to the front of a 75mm Sherman tank and 24 chains with small weights at the ends. These weights detonate mines in front of the tank, clearing the way for infantry or other tanks. This minesweeper is designed for 1/35th scale Sherman WW2 models but can be modified to fit other mine-clearing devices. It's intended for 75mm Shermans with short barrels, but I attached it to a 76mm long Sherman in the picture above. Despite this, the dimensions of the side shell are exactly the same as the original design. The project requires some specialized components: -A soldering iron or crazy glue is needed (although the iron is more efficient) -Mk1 Sidearm parts x2 -Mk2 Hydraulic system parts x2 -Mk3 Detail parts x2 -Mk4 Indoor Spinner part x1 -Mk5 Outdoor Spinner part x1 -Mk6 Flail chain links x24 -MK7 Spinner Cap part x1 -Optional: Tamiya xf-62 and x-1 To assemble the mine-clearing device, start by welding the end of the handgun to the inner wheel (make sure that the brick at the end of the handgun is opposite the wheel). Next, weld the hydraulics to the side arm. Make sure they're attached to the two-point handgun (see pictures). Print 24 flail chains and make a small cut in the last link of each chain (furthest from the balloon). Use this cut to slide the last link of the flail chains onto the hooks on the surface of the outer visor. Slide the outer wheel (now with chains) onto the inner wheel (which is now attached to the handgun). Insert the disc cap into the opening at the open end of the inner disc (which is now topped by the disc). Repeat these steps using the dispensing cap and another side arm (Mk1.5), then repeat them again with a new hydraulic system and the side arm mentioned earlier in this step. Finally, weld the Mine Shield between the two handguns. Make sure it's close enough to the pot to allow space for the saddle guns to attach to the tank shell, but far enough from the pot to be realistic. Attach the mine-clearing device to the tank and admire your model!
