Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass

I crafted this magnifying glass as props for a Sherlock Holmes costume. The handle was printed in halves to prevent the need for support structures. I printed it with ABS plastic using 10% infill settings. Then, I carefully glued the two halves together. Next, I attached an outer ring that I had also printed and glued onto the handle. To complete the magnifying glass, I inserted a thin piece of Fresnel plastic lens and secured it in place with the inner ring. This design made it functional yet lightweight and safe enough for kids to handle without breaking it. I added a finish by painting it with acrylic art paint to mimic a wood and brass appearance. The Fresnel material used was easily sourced from Amazon and could be cut using simple scissors.
