Sherline Mills and Lathes come equipped with a multitude of tools, and I'm absolutely enamored with them! The challenge of keeping them organized has always been a daunting task, which is why I created these organizer trays (with many more in development) to tackle several key objectives. Firstly, they ensure that all loose items can be kept together, eliminating the risk of losing essential components amidst a chaotic pile. Secondly, the trays enable tools to be stacked neatly within a tool box, thus minimizing space consumption compared to storing them in zip-lock bags. Thirdly, this setup facilitates effortless retrieval of specific items when needed, preventing frustrating searches through cluttered piles. Fourthly, it's genuinely impressive that you've made it this far - give yourself a hearty pat on the back! Lastly, creating something new is an absolute blast! 1) Knurling Tool Tray This tray features four insets for storing spare knurls (two pairs) and slots for unused screws, which are required for different diameters of parts being knurled. It's assumed that T-nuts will always be stored on the knurling tool. 2) Step Down Blocks Tray This tray boasts slots at the bottom to store various lengths of screws in pairs, making them easily accessible when needed. The step down blocks are placed atop the screws for storage. The divider "posts" are relatively fragile and not overly functional, so their breakage is hardly a concern. 3) Steady Rests Tray This tray securely holds both the Steady Rest and the Follower Rest. The brass bars of the Follower rest must be removed from the rest body and stored in the provided slot. The steady rest's bars can remain in place but are pushed to their innermost position to minimize box size. The follower rests hold down tab is also housed in a top slot. 4) Radius Cutter Tray This tray snugly holds the three primary items of the radius cutter kit, keeping the cutter supports (with their very sharp centers) safely apart from each other. 4) Machine Vice Tray This tray securely holds the machine vice and features higher walls to store hold-down clamps and T-nuts within the same tray. Slots in the side wall make it easy to grasp the vice for removal from the box.
