The Sherline model 2000 five-axis milling machineThe eight-direction 2000 series 5-axis milling machine was created to bring Sherline technology into the new century. Inspired by industry standards like the full-size Bridgeport mill, the redesigned column features four extra movements not found in other Sherline machines. A specially modified rotary attachment lets the Z-axis column tilt sideways up to 90 degrees easily thanks to a laser-engraved angle scale and a locking mechanism that holds it securely at the desired angle. Just as with the standard rotary attachment, an elbow on the special attachment's rear side allows the top of the Z-axis column to swing towards or away from the operator, also indicated by engraved scales for movement up to 90 degrees in either direction. Beyond the existing left-to-right and front-back movement options provided by the standard mill's axes and headstock rotation capability, this new base model 2000 mill allows for total control over eight different motions or angles.
