Sherical rod end (Traxxas)

Sherical rod end (Traxxas)

thingiverse

This is a replica of a Traxxas rod end, equipped with a rotating spherical ball insert that swivels freely. It gets mounted onto the ends of tie rods to create an adjustable mechanical linkage between two points, frequently paired with a servo at one end. The bore can accommodate a 3mm screw or tie rod securely. Similarly, the bearing end also accepts a 3mm screw or bolt effectively. This is an accurate model of: Traxxas part # 2742X Interestingly, it's made up of two separate components, with exactly 0.003 inches clearance between the ball and its housing at a scale factor of one-to-one. However, this gap exceeds the actual real-world space, intentionally set slightly larger in hopes that with proper settings or scaling, it might indeed become a functional printable bearing.
