Shelly1 Garage Opener/Sensor Enclosure
thingiverse
I followed this awesome DIY automated garage door opener project from The Hookup YouTube channel and found the result amazing but... quite a mess after installing it. https://youtu.be/WEZUxXNiERQ So I decided to make a nice enclosure for the project. Features: - Compact enclosure to keep all your fiddly bits and wires properly contained - Snap design with no screws - It also kinda looks like a toilet seat. I don't know... maybe that's a feature to you. I'm not here to judge. Per the YouTube video, the "dumb" half of the magnet sensor is attached to the garage door chain with zip ties. The enclosure containing all the "smart" components is attached to the garage door motor using a Command strip. I also included a screenshot of my Node-RED notification flow. It works like this: - If the garage door is open and nobody is home - notify - If the garage door is open and someone is home, but it is late - notify - If the garage door is open for more than an hour for any reason - notify Notifications are re-sent every 10 minutes until somebody finally closes the frickin' garage door.
