Shell-y Rock

I discovered this fascinating stone on the beach at Año Nuevo State Park. It's packed with tiny fragments of shells that shimmer like pearls when the stone gets wet. To capture the maximum contrast between the shells and their surrounding material, I photographed the rock while it was soaked in water. The water clinging to the rock is responsible for the vibrant streaks visible in its texture.
