Shell Speaker

I designed a shell speaker inspired by B&W nautilus speakers and Polymaker's OpenSCAD design, something big to print on my new printer. It uses a 4" full range driver; note that this is sized for a SEAS FU-10RB speaker where the external frame diameter is 98mm, so for larger drivers you'll have to modify the OpenSCAD code. I've only printed a half-size version of it on my i3 as a test, but I'm looking forward to printing some full-size ones in copper and cork later. To finish this project, check out my other sphere speaker for additional parts you need; also get some silicone sealant or epoxy resin to fill the hole from the bottom once you've got your speaker wires in. **Print Settings** * Printer: bq Hephestos i3 * Rafts: No rafts are needed. * Supports: Yes, supports were applied only under the little round hole (this might not be necessary). * Resolution: 0.2mm * Infill: 25% infill was used. **Design Process** I designed this shell speaker using OpenSCAD for its shape and then Meshmixer to smooth out any imperfections and fix it up a bit.
