A unique, small sculpture with a design reminiscent of a sand-dollar, sea urchin, and fish, as well as trilobite features, was created from an old 3D art piece by the author. The artist appreciated the shape's intricacy and curiosity about whether it could be printed using a Makerbot 2X. The model was converted to STL format and processed with Makerware. The final product has a bumpy, natural-looking surface and is rather thin, similar to 2D art. Despite this, the piece doesn't require much plastic or time to print, regardless of the chosen settings. However, the author is uncertain if the underside will print correctly without rafts and supports.
