For those struggling with the same predicament as myself, two 7-inch shelf pegboard brackets and only one 6-inch pine fir board were all that was required to create a solution. This spacer is designed to sit proudly in the center of a 2-foot long board and screw firmly into its bottom for added stability. Additionally, it boasts DW in Anglo-Saxon runes on top, a testament to my unapologetic nerdiness. If you find this solution helpful in any way at all, I can only assume your situation is dire indeed.
