Shelf-Mounted Spool Holder

Shelf-Mounted Spool Holder

myminifactory

Updated: Uploaded a 2.0 version that is even smoother, better reinforced, and still prints without supports in one continuous piece. This entry is for the 3D Printer Nerd Design Contest, where contestants must create a spool holder to attach to the front of their Filament shelves. The design aims to be both simple to print and use, despite its size, requiring a larger printing area such as a GMax. Inspired by the shelf brackets themselves, this creation features clean lines and functionality. To install, slide the long end under the gap between the spools and the front wood crossbeam, allowing it to curve in and slip under the back wood crossbeam. When properly placed, it should provide bracing against the bottom of the rear crossbeam while gripping the top crossbeam between a slight lip and the front reinforcement. The feeding filament spool is positioned on the perpendicular bar extending from the shelf, featuring an inner curved surface to guide the spool into center alignment as it feeds, accommodating spools of various sizes regardless of their diameter.
