Shelf for Micro Fridge

Shelf for Micro Fridge

thingiverse

I have a small fridge that uses a Peltier junction to keep its contents cool. It works great in my car and can also be plugged into regular 110-volt AC. It fits six standard beverage cans quite nicely - four on the bottom, standing up and two on its shelf - or four cans standing up and a couple of sandwiches on the shelf. My problem is that a certain energy drink has cans that are taller and skinnier than usual Coke/Pepsi cans. The fridge has slots that the original shelf fit into to hold it in place. So, here's my solution: I made a new shelf that uses the slots in the fridge but sits 10 millimeters higher. This leaves enough room for four taller, skinner cans to stand up on the bottom and two taller, skinnier cans (or a couple of sandwiches) to lie down on the shelf. I didn't notice until I started printing that it isn't quite symmetrical. This won't interfere with its functionality, but if someone is a perfectionist, they may want to modify it slightly. I haven't been able to try it yet - my fridge is at work in my office and the building is closed for the week. I'll post updated photos when I put the new shelf in the tiny fridge. Okay, so I tried it in the fridge and it works great but it's a bit loose, so I made a shim that improves the fit. If you printed the original and find it's loose or wobbles, you may also want to print 'Fix for micro Fridge shelf.stl' - this is the shim that will tighten the fit. Slide it in on the left side after the shelf is in place.
