Shelf for IKEA KURA Bed
thingiverse
This is a simple cantilevered shelf for an IKEA KURA bed. Due to its considerable height compared to regular beds, a standard bedside table won't suffice. It clips securely to the side of the bed and boasts a 150mm deep shelf. Designed specifically to hold tissue boxes and small alarm clocks, not heavy weights like lead bars, this shelf can supposedly support a couple of kilograms or so, although that has yet to be verified. To print it successfully, align the longest edge perpendicular to the bed (with the Z-axis being the longest measurement), which will maximize strength. Given that this shelf is 300mm long, you may need to adjust the STL file if your printer can't accommodate that length or if you prefer a longer design (I was limited by the space available next to my bed). This shelf requires supports because I wanted to create an edge around it, preventing items from falling off. I used Cura to slice it and opted for tree supports, which worked remarkably well. You don't necessarily need a raft when printing this design, but consider adding a brim due to its significant height and limited bed contact area.
