Sheffield University Information Commons

University of Sheffield Information Commons This is a replica of the University of Sheffield Information Commons, an iconic library/workspace that stands as the heart of student life at the university. It's here that the majority of students spend countless hours pouring over books and working on assignments. As someone who has spent many late nights within these walls, I felt compelled to create this model as a tribute to the all-nighters, last-minute cram sessions, and countless study breaks I've experienced firsthand. My affection for this building knows no bounds. This 3D model was crafted using ProDesktop software. To bring it to life, high-quality white PLA 3D printer filament from 3DEX Ltd. was carefully selected. The printing process involved a wall thickness of 0.8mm, twice the nozzle thickness, and a layer height of 0.25mm. A print speed of 50mm/s ensured precise details, while an infill setting of 10% provided adequate support. However, I recommend upping this to at least 15% for optimal results. The slicer used was Cura 2.3. If you decide to print this model, I'd love to see your progress and hear about any challenges you faced along the way.
