Sheet Garter Hook

Sheet Garter Hook

I like my bed sheet to stay neatly attached to the bed. I use an old style, large garter hook attached to a piece of elastic on each end of a strap that runs under the mattress. When I needed another set, I discovered that my 50 year old style hook is no longer available to purchase (all are too small and difficult to use).About the DesignI designed this in Fusion 360. It is 100% parametric. It prints fast with no support. As designed, it is meant for a 20mm wide elastic band.I went with 3 parts:The strap part is optional (my wife will likely sew the end loop closed). The main part and the hook part are meant to be on the loop together. They align properly when in use.I recommend a generous end loop in the elastic of 20-25mm. This allows the hook part to slip down and align with the large hole in the main part. The hook part has a very thin section so it is bendable as necessary. The button on the hook part has a taper (to prevent the need of support) and the main part's hole has a matching taper to give it good clearance. For best results, the 2 parts should be mounted on the loop in the same orientation as printed. Inspired by Petr Vacek's model.
