3ds Max 2010 uses V-Ray 2.40.03 to render fbx files without wool. A Sheepskin Rug measures 95x60 cm. Wool in a Max file is created by geometry. To achieve the effect, delete the geometry and add a modifier instead. Before rendering, navigate to Rendering - Effects, click on Hair and Fur, and select mr prim mode below. System units are set at mm. If rendering in geometry, translate the model into a proxy first. Render in Effects mode produces a more realistic result.
