Sheep Embryo Liver

This is the sheep embryonic liver at Carnegie stage 15 - 16 (36 - 39 days). It is one of the largest and most easily identifiable organs in the embryo at this stage. Note the openings through which various blood vessels occupy in life. These models were generated from real serial histological data as part of a dissertation project for the MSc Medical Visualisation and Human Anatomy programme (2019) by Keiran Tait.
