Shed Draw System
thingiverse
There are plenty of good Draw systems out there but I could not find one that suited my needs. So I set about making my own. I wanted there to be no lose of space brought about by the interlocking system and it to be flush. Also I was not looking for it to have overly thick joints and sides, as I have found in other systems I have printed that took many more hours to print. Everything bar the tags were printed on a draft setting. The Labels at 0.20 Quality. Used various cheap PLA+ from Ebay AW. Plus Sunlu own brand as well as Sunlu subsidiary's. Boxes There are currently 2 box sizes a 70mm and 140mm, Length 120mm. The 140mm is divided into 2 different draw layouts. 1 taking 3 x 44mm the other 1 x44mm and 1 x 88mm. All versions have screw holes at the back of the box. All boxes have been designed to print from the back up and need no supports. As this is for the shed I have also made some travel boxes so as move my draws of screws and nails around as needed. The 70mm boxes slide easily into place along side each other. However putting 2 x 140mm took some effort. Have checked the measurements but have not found out why. May look at changing the larger ones to 1 joint rather than 2. You can see in the pictures they have gone together. Draws There are currently 3 different draw sizes, 44mm, 64mm and 88mm wide, all 120.5mm long. The 44mm & 64mm also have ½ divided versions. After much practice I decided on the current draw which requires no supports in printing. (Please be aware that measurements are taken from the inside of the boxes into which the draws fit. The draws are therefore a millimetre or so smaller to fit inside.) Labels Have attached stl and the Fusion360 File so that you can make changes as needed. If you wish to use another program and make your own. The sizes are Large: 42mm x 25mm x 1.2mm, text also 1.2mm. The gap into which it slides is 43.5mm x 25mm x 1.6mm Small: 32mm x 25mm x 1.2mm, text also 1.2. The gap into which it slides is 33mm x 25mm x 1.6mm Adding pictures as I go, Please be aware that some of the draws pictured are attempts at a different design that failed my no support requirement. But rather than wasting I will still use as it is only in my Shed and not on display. I have added the draws I rejected as requiring supports on handle. They are printable. I have added Fusion 360 files to change as you wish. Caps So as to end up with a smooth sides there are 4 caps. For the tops I have also designed a tray. All can be printed without supports. Updates 20/03/22: Caps Tray 1, Successfully prints without supports “back up”. There is a fillet front edge, aiding in removing items from the tray and negates the need for supports. This one has been designed for me as I have numerous wooden boxes, and allows me to use 4 on each one. 22/03/22 Boxes: Updated after I found an error causing problems sliding together. This was caused by the fillet, I had not allowed space for this when sliding together. Huge Apologies: 140mm boxes also changed as joints were the same both ends. 23/03/22: 140mm Box one draw added 23/03/22:136mm Draw: Full size draw 19/04/22: Error found in full size draw file updated
