Metadata Inventory #2001 Size 1.11m x 0.77m x 0.28m Material Porphyry Description A Roman replica from the first century AD, crafted from an ancient original dating back to the fifth BC, now housed at the Villa Medici in Rome. The original monolith was carved from a valuable porphyry stone, highly prized during its time due to its association with Pharaohs' stones. To achieve a polished finish, one square meter of porphyry required 150 hours of labor, outpacing Carrara marble's requirement by six minutes. This iconic totemic figure embodies the foundation myth of dell'Urbe, as the female wolf represents the symbol of Rome's world power. Conserved at Uffizi Museum, South Corridor Paradata Captured using 3D Sensing technology and automatic photogrammetry with a Canon 5D Mark II camera equipped with a Canon 24mm f/1.8 lens.
