She-Hulk (Jennifer Susan Walters) is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist John Buscema, she first made her debut in Savage She-Hulk #1 (cover-dated February 1980). Following an injury, Walters received an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, which resulted in a milder version of his Hulk condition taking hold within her body. As such, Walters transforms into a large, powerful green-hued version of herself while still retaining much of her personality intact. Notably, she maintains her intelligence and emotional control, although like the Hulk, she also becomes stronger if enraged. In later comic book issues, her transformation is revealed to be permanent. She-Hulk has been an integral member of several superhero teams, including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Heroes for Hire, the Defenders, Fantastic Force, and S.H.I.E.L.D. As a highly skilled lawyer, she has provided legal counsel to various superheroes on numerous occasions.
