Shaver Stand (Philips Norelco PQ208/40 Travel Electric Razor)
thingiverse
I used to own an old version of this Philips travel electric razor that stood upright on its own. Unfortunately, a long story short: my dog managed to get to it. So I ordered a new one. However, this new model doesn't stand up right like the old one did. It's called the "Philips Norelco PQ208/40 Travel Electric Razor". Consequently, we designed and printed a stand for it. The tricky part of this project was that the shape of the shaver has many compound curves, which go beyond my CAD skills. A few searches in the app store showed how far technology has come with SLAM scanning and photogrammetry techniques. Using the Qlone App, I was able to scan the razor and create a model from which I made this stand. I'm unsure if anyone else has ever had this problem. But it made for a great project nonetheless. It took three iterations (vastly different) before getting to "mark III". The oval negative space at the bottom of the stand is designed to reduce material usage and make it look lighter. No additional support was needed for these angles.
