Shattered Faceted Light

Shattered Faceted Light

myminifactory

Inspired by a shattered light bulb, this creative redesign can be used to fit snugly over an existing light fixture - in my case, I wanted to breathe new life into an old Ikea lamp that still worked perfectly well, but the outdated lampshade was unattractive. Too often, old products like this are carelessly discarded when they could be revitalized with a bit of 3D printing and given a fresh start. The smallest internal diameter is 31mm, so just ensure it can slide effortlessly over your intended light fixture - if not, simply scale the print up to fit! This particular print was executed on an Up! Plus 2 using a 0.2mm layer thickness. Minimal support material was required.
