Sharpie Magnetic Holder
thingiverse
As a Forklift Operator, I rely heavily on my whiteboard at work to keep tabs on loads and lots. I'm always misplacing my dry-erase markers until I attached a small magnet to them and they now stick to my Forklift beside me. To create something more permanent, I designed and printed a set of simple holders that can securely hold my markers in place. I used 10mm diameter magnets from a Dollar store Cellphone magnetic car vent mount, which I extracted and inserted into the base of each device after fine-tuning the thickness to maximize the magnets' pull and the plastic's strength. To achieve accuracy, I print with supports and then use a fine pair of needle-nose pliers to carefully pry out the support where the magnet will be seated.
