Sharp GP2Y0A21 IR Sensor Housing
thingiverse
I'm working on a semi-automatic pond refiller project and this model is a crucial part of the water level sensor component. This enclosure is custom-built around a Sharp GP2Y0A21 Infrared Sensor that I had lying around from an old robotics project. A cylindrical shell has been added to the outer rim to heatshrink the sensor wires, making them hopefully waterproof. The sensor itself sits on a PCB, protected by a plastic lens integrated into the outer casing, so water won't seep in through the rectangular slot at the top. The screw holes were designed to be adaptable, allowing me to scavenge for suitable screws rather than drilling new ones. The two ear cutouts for mounting the sensor should be 3.36mm, if that helps you source matching hardware. I edited my design: I used some 4mm diameter by 25mm length screws instead and adjusted their threads accordingly. Additionally, I removed the outer cable support as it was deemed unnecessary during the printing process and additional supports were not provided. The three screw holes took center stage once the cylindrical guides were eliminated, after they seemed superfluous to me upon reevaluation of the model's structural integrity.
