For my son's costume, I embarked on a 3D printing project which involved creating a chest plate that required nearly a week of printing. To give it shape, I heated the flat-printed chest plate using a hot air gun and bent it over a large pipe. The chest plate, with its large surface area, posed challenges in printing, so I resolved this by creating cavities and utilizing support material. A unique feature was the sword holder that allowed for easy removal by my son. Painted black by him, all pieces were made from PLA material. --- This 3D printing project, designed for my son's costume, took almost a week to complete due to the time-consuming nature of printing. The chest plate was initially printed flat and then heated with a hot air gun before bending it over a large pipe. To overcome issues with large surface area, cavities were created and support material used. My son enjoyed painting all components black after I had finished printing them in PLA. The sword holder allowed for easy removal of the sword, which slid in from the bottom and hung freely.
