The jaws of a Great White Shark can span up to nearly 2 meters across, allowing them to exert tremendous biting pressure to tackle their massive prey effectively. Their jaw structure comprises of multiple sections and joints, which function much like an accordion or bellows. These components provide great mobility as the upper portion tilts back at about an angle of nearly 25 degrees from the horizon while swallowing its food or escaping a predator themselves when attacked from behind by a marine mammal during feeding on a dead carcass out at sea. The sharks have several sharp, triangular-shaped teeth located all over the inside edge that protrude far forward beyond their lower jaws but become dislodged quickly once the pressure increases during strong contractions forcing them downward rapidly in a biting motion where every one comes together as a solid unit locked tight around an animal being seized whole with each stroke.
