Shard Collection
thingiverse
I created these shards as glass mirror props for a video clip. Each shard is unique and may be scaled as required. You could incorporate one or more into a lamp design.Print using transparent-clear resin or filament. For best results use a resin printer. Alternately use 100% infill with filament. I printed my models in the upright direction and with supports. You could also print with the face against the build platform.Finish the print as required. You could:basic clean-up will give a “natural crystal” appearance.sand flat with fine sandpaper (400 grit minimum) to give a matte finish for a light diffuser.sand flat and polish to replicate flat acrylic sheet or glass. For a mirror-like surface, polish and then paint the front (or back) face with chrome paint. Alternately apply self-adhesive Aluminium foil (typically used for ductwork).
