Shapeoko 3 Drag Chain Supports
thingiverse
These are supports for the Shapeoko 3 if the model pre-dates the drilled aluminum extrusion. Mine was purchased around November of 2019 and I believe was one of the early units shipped with drag chains. The provided chain supports for the carriages were simple metal angles and the supports for the extrusion were absent so I believe the intention was for the drag chain to rest on the extrusion itself. Additionally, the stock design did not keep the drag chains straight and that just irked me. I created these to hold the drag chain off of the extrusion and aligned. The larger pieces can be installed using the stock hardware and should clear all belts and motors. I found that three of the smaller supports were enough for each drag chain on an XXL model and they could be applied with just double-faced tape. I integrated loops on them for the limit switches' wires that run on the X-axis.Important Note: I designed these for a setup where the control panel is mounted on the right-side Y rail (as you look at the machine from the front). If your control panel is mounted on the left Y rail, you will want to print mirrored versions of the larger pieces as the chains will hang off the opposite side of the support.
