Shapeoko 3 Belt Tensioning System
thingiverse
This is a belt tensioner for the Shapeoko 3. Simply turn a screw to tension the belts to your liking. It requires a slot to be made in the plates for the belt to exit. The tensioner can be used as a template to mark the location for the slot. You'll need to print a base (left and right are mirror images depending on which side you mount), a Clamp_main, a Clamp_btm, and a Cap for each tensioner. I use one tensioner on each Y and one for the X. Hardware needed: 1 - M6 screw (re-used from mounting extrusion) for mounting to plate. 1 - M5x10mm screw for mounting to plate 4 - M3x10mm screw for clamping belt and Cap alignment (I only used two on the cap, but you could use 4 if you like the look) 2 - M3 nut for belt clamp 1 - M5x20mm for tensioning 2 - M5 nut for tensioning and mounting to plate Note: For older plates that use two M3 screws through the plates for tensioning, you will need an additional M3x10mm screw and nut in place of the M5x10mm. Easy to print. No supports needed. Should be ready to go right off the printer.
