Shapeoko 2 Electronics Enclosure

This enclosure provides ample space for the fan, Arduino UNO, and GShield, as well as a small board to secure wires for Limit Switches. Be cautious when noting hole positions on your limit switch board, or it may end up crooked like mine. I chose not to modify it since it remains functional. The corner anchors were 3D printed, but you might prefer using Ø3mm brass standoffs instead due to their threaded design and ease of disassembly. However, the reset buttons on the cards are inaccessible, leaving room for improvement in my design. It's mounted to the Shapeoko Plate via an acrylic 1/4" bracket that I threaded with Ø5mm screws. All sides and brackets were assembled using Weld-On after a dry fit test was conducted beforehand. Make sure to perform this test before applying Weld-On. You can find Weld-On on Amazon by searching for "Weld-On Acrylic Adhesive Applicator Bottle." *UPDATE* A video showcasing the stock Shapeoko 2 is available at http://youtu.be/6VvwGszE8Xo. The video demonstrates that the machine technically functions as advertised, but it's extremely unreliable and can be hazardous. I had to pass through two 1/4" thick sheets before achieving proper cutting on the small bracket above. This unreliability wastes time and money on materials, which is likely what Inventables relies on - customer expenses. As a result, I've discontinued using the machine until I obtain a TinyG stepper motor controller. The GRBLShield is poorly designed and generates excessive electrical noise, causing my Shapeoko 2 to plunge unexpectedly into the waste board and breaking my fine engraving bits. This has occurred twice when invoking the Homing Command. The hard limits option doesn't work due to all the electrical interference, leaving no protection in place. If you must have a Shapeoko, consider purchasing the mechanical kit with NEMA 23 motors and TinyG instead of the full kit, which features faulty electronics and small motors. Who needs a glorified "Spyrograph"?
