This spindle mount modification increases Z-axis travel for Shapeoko 2 users with Altocraft rotary tools. Assembling the parts, which include four pieces - "Lower Fixed," "Lower Clamp," "Upper Fixed," and "Upper Clamp" - replaces the stock rotary tool mount. The inserts fit inside the original metal mounts and fasten using 5mm bolts without any additional hardware. The design boosts Z-axis travel to 3.25 inches with a 1/2 inch end mill, outperforming other printed spindle holders. Printed in ABS with a solid infill, the process takes approximately 1.5 hours. Proper placement and tightening of the clamps are crucial for optimal performance; over-tightening may cause damage but not affect functionality. The "Upper Clamp" has been revised to version 0_5 to reduce stress lines.
