Shape Tray Toy for Baby
thingiverse
Made a shape tray toy for my 4-month-old to develop fine motor skills and eventually master shapes and colors. The large, bulky design of the tray makes it difficult to toss on the floor, while its rounded edges make it pleasant to touch. The shapes are carefully rounded and beveled to eliminate any sharp edges or corners. I printed the shapes in different colors to add visual interest. After several months of use, the toy has held up remarkably well. It gets washed occasionally with warm soapy water and looks brand new despite being subjected to messy play from high chair height. A Fusion360 file is included for anyone who wants to make adjustments. **Note:** I've designed the pieces large enough to avoid choking hazards, but it's still crucial to supervise your baby during playtime. If you're concerned about safety, try scaling up the pieces and tray by 5% or so.
