thingiverse
This is a stencil to help individuals draw shapes such as triangles, circles, squares, ovals, diamonds, and hexagons.
Project: Shape Stencil
Objectives
We hoped by creating this that students would be able to more easily draw shapes.
Audiences
This stencil would be useful to all ages. Kids can use it to help them draw, teenagers can use it in school, and adults can use it in their lives as needed.
Preparation
No prior knowledge is needed to use this project and it is purely to help make drawing shapes simpler.
Steps
1.) We defined the problem at hand: What would be useful to a teacher or student that we could make on a 3D printer?
2.) We came up with different ideas that we thought could possibly work.
3.) We narrowed down our ideas and did research on what had already been done and what it would take to make one.
4.) We defined the criteria and constraints that would be present while making this.
5.) We looked at which ideas of ours could work.
6.) We decided our best idea was to make a stencil.
7.) We created a design proposal to give to our teacher.
8.) We created the stencil on Inventor and printed out a prototype.
9.) We looked at what had been printed out and decided what needed to be fixed.
10.) We changed what we thought was needed and resubmitted the idea.
11.) Our final draft was printed out on the 3D printer.
12.) We posted the stencil to the competition and gave it to our teacher.
