Thanks! --------------------------------- About the Tower The Oriental Pearl Radio & Television Tower stands proudly in Shanghai. Its prime location at the tip of Lujiazui in the Pudong New Area by the side of Huangpu River, opposite The Bund, makes it a striking landmark in the area. Jiang Huan Chen, Lin Benlin, and Zhang Xiulin led the team of principal designers. Construction began in 1991, and the tower was completed in 1994. At 468 meters (1,535 feet) high, it dominated China's skyline from 1994-2007, when it was outdone by the Shanghai World Financial Center. The China National Tourism Administration classifies it as an AAAAA scenic area. The tower shines brightly in different LED sequences at night.
