Shampoo Ring

Use this threaded ring to attach two bottles together and transfer shampoo, conditioner, or other products from an empty bottle to a new one. The threads fit most standard bathroom use bottles. A collar inside seals the bottles in place. I used it without the collar first and didn't experience any leaks, but with the collar, the seal should be even tighter. Print Settings Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer Model: Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill Density: 30% Notes: I always print a brim with three outlines and two layers to ensure smooth operation. Printing on clean PEI with an ABS bed at 110°C head temperature and 230°C helps remove the printed part easily. Design Process I designed this in OnShape by measuring the thread pitch and size using a micrometer, then creating prototypes to achieve the perfect diameter for screwing onto standard bottles. I added a collar on the inside with a beveled edge to seal against the bottle top. While the collar may not be necessary, it provides extra security. To create the knurled surface, I generated a 1/4 turn helix and created a new surface along it. Using circular copy, I obtained the desired number of elements around the cylinder. Then, I mirrored all those elements to achieve the knurled pattern before performing a Boolean subtraction.
