Shamanic Harp

Intricately wrapped around youthful tree trunks adorned with an enormous harpy eagle skull, this harp towers nearly as tall as the shaman who masterfully plays it, its age a testament to the ancient traditions of a fiercely warrior-like people. As a challenge to create a musical instrument, I chose something decidedly unconventional and much more in line with my personal passions: wood and bones. Every detail was meticulously crafted within 3DS Max, with a personal touch added through hand-painted textures. Given our strict polygon count limitations at the time and my limited understanding of normal mapping techniques, this project remains one that I would love to revisit.
