Shaman

myminifactory

A robust male figure stands, embodying a shamanic presence, one hand grasping a container and the other wielding an axe. His headdress pulls his hair upwards in a dramatic flourish. Ritual posts such as this one exhibit a columnar shape, crafted from volcanic rock known as andesite. This particular artifact is linked to a ritual post that features a man seated at the top and a jaguar figure descending towards him. The post was created sometime between 300 AD and 700 AD in the Central Caribbean region of Costa Rica.
