This is a historical shako inspired by the iconic headgear worn by French soldiers in the early 19th century. The model boasts a singular texture that perfectly captures its original form. A prop such as this one could serve multiple purposes: enhancing authenticity in video games, providing crucial detail for cinematic scenes or even being utilized to reenact historical battles. Le shako (schako ou mirliton) is a military hat with a truncated cone shape and distinctive visor. Originally crafted from felt, it was frequently decorated with an exotic casuarina plume, a pom-pom, or elaborate piping. In the early 19th century, the bicorne gave way to this innovative design as standard-issue headgear among army officers in the year 1807 onwards. Interestingly, the Prussian military was the first to adopt it - it then bore the name of 'shako hongrois.' It's notable that shakos started getting phased out with the widespread adoption of the kepi, starting around the 1860s.
